According to the Los Angeles Times the amount of people will soon be able to access the internet would be 40% leaving the remaining 60% of the world without internet.

According to new data released by the UIS, literacy rates for adults and youth continue to rise. Young women aged 15-24 are making the strongest gains, but still lag behind young men. In 2011, 87% of female youth had basic literacy skills, compared to 92% of males.

Out of the 7.1 billion people in the world, 774 million adults (15 years and older) still cannot read or write. The remaining 6.4 billion with internet access is our target audience.

Out of 25 people surveyed, 21 of them actually read the news, either in print or online. Out of those 21, 17 read everyday, 1 once a week, and 2 once a month.
